Description
When you’re creating or editing an article in our Rich Editor 2 and you attempt to insert an @mention, your browser might become unresponsive (i.e., "hang," "freeze").
📝 NOTE: This issue is unique to the Rich Editor 2; it has not been observed in our original Rich Editor.
Notes
This issue does not occur:
- when the article is viewed or
- when using @mentions in posts (i.e., discussions, comments).
Workarounds
If you're creating and/or editing knowledge base articles in Rich Editor 2, you can avoid this issue by:
- not inserting @mentions (until this issue is resolved), or
- temporarily using Rich Editor for articles that benefit from @mentions.
Remove existing @mentions
In order to remove @mentions from existing Rich Editor 2 articles so that you can edit them without encountering this issue, switch back to Rich Editor temporarily by enabling the Reinterpret All Posts As Rich setting (Dashboard > Settings > Discussions > Posting), shown below.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: After this issue has been resolved, you can return here and toggle this setting off if you want to switch back to Rich Editor 2.
